Trains: Not Just For Anoraks
(entirely)

(Jul 06, 2009) -

As I lie in bed typing this on myold Macbook, feeling all dizzy and feverish my mind keeps going back to an amazing (somewhat OT) day out that I had yesterday.  Sue and I were driving about the Norfolk countryside looking for adventure.  Me driving like a lunatic round all those gorgeous country bends didnt count as adventure, apparently.

I spotted a sign for a steam museum, which sounded manly/geeky enough for my liking but Sue wasnt convinced.  "They have train rides!" I lied, and with that I was in.  That kinda backfired, as I found it difficult to keep Sue off the train rides, and by the time we'd finished those all the exhibits had shut.  Gotta admit though, those old trains had a certain charm, and (predictably) I got some modelling ideas.  The sounds and shapes might be alien to our automobile-riddled brains, but there's inspiration galore if you can only work out how to translate it.
